Bio

Rick Moody, Ottawa, ON, Canada.

My songwriting is especially influenced by Bruce Cockburn, Leonard Cohen,  Bob Dylan, Gordon Lightfoot, Shawn Philips, Lynn Miles, Joni Mitchell, Willie Nelson, Buffy Saint-Marie, Simon and Garfunkel, Bruce Springstein (Nebraska), Cat Stevens,/Yusuf, James Taylor, Suzanne Vega and Neil Young.

I am a retired, internationally recognised Canadian research scientist in the environmental health area with a lifetime passion for singing/songwriting. After retiring I learned how to record myself in Cubase DAW,

Each song has its lyrics (usually with guitar chords) attached, together with the title (registered with SOCAN) and the date it was created/copyrighted.

Most of my songs are about my own personal experiences. I give much thought to my lyrics and hope others will find them meaningful.

I have included digital albums here that separate my songs into different 'eras' beginning with an album of my songs from the 60s to 80s. Other than a few songs I recorded years ago I converted from tape, I recorded myself singing and playing all instruments since about 2013.

Most recently I am exploring guitar DADGAD & Open E tuning in my songwriting.
